Our story begins in Angola, a country full of life, colour and character.

Growing up, our founder, Wilma Pereira, was always curious about art, language, culture and the stories they carried. Her first introduction to the art of fragrance came unexpectedly, while watching a Brazilian novela as a child. The main character was a perfumer, and seeing her mix different scents together was fascinating. It was the first time she saw fragrance as something that could be created, rather than simply worn.

Years later, still curious about the world of perfumery, she enrolled in a perfumery course in the UK. There, she began learning the foundations of the craft, from the history of perfumery and the countless ingredients that can exist within a single fragrance, to how scents are composed and brought to life. The course opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

Within a year, still chasing that curiosity, she enrolled in another perfumery course, this time in France. With its rich history in fragrance, being able to learn in the heart of the perfumery world was a great privilege. There, she was introduced to new scent notes and materials, deepening her understanding of how culture and place can influence fragrance.

By the end of the course, her curiosity had begun to move beyond personal fragrance. She started to realise that the things that surround us can carry histories, memories and emotions far beyond the objects themselves. This led her to explore how scent could transform a space and create an atmosphere, eventually completing a scented candle course in Spain. There, she learned about different types of wax, fragrance composition and concentration, vessels, and the many details that come together to create a scented candle.

After years of learning, travelling and experiencing life, Will Well was born. Influenced by several countries and cultures, we explore how the things we surround ourselves with can shape the way we live.
